On Wednesday, Donald Trump released his Thanksgiving message, in which he praised the pilgrims who made the treachorous voyage to the United States all those years ago.
The former president wished Americans a “blessed and joyful” holiday, and called on citizens to remember what it means to live in this great country.

“Nearly four hundred years ago the pilgrims gathered with native Americans to give thanks to their first harvest,” Trump began.
“Just over a year before, in September of 1620 the pilgrims set sail on the Mayflower to settle a new land where they could live and worship freely.”
He explained that they “came to this continent with few resources but rich in faith, courage, and dreams,” and were able to make it through the winter and enjoy a plentiful first harvest.
“Since then,” Trump added, “Americans have always remembered the blessings of freedom and the glory of God.”
The former president went on to explain how Thanksgiving became a national holiday in the United States.
“Today we give thanks for all the pioneers, pilgrims, and patriots who have gone before us, and for all those warriors who have kept us safe and free,” he continued, lamenting the fact that a thousands of men and women in uniform will not be with their families this week.
