Watch: Texas National Guard Continues Building Razor Wire Border Barriers, Defies Biden Admin

The Texas National Guard continues to fortify border barriers with razor wire, defying demands of the Biden administration, The Daily Wire found upon visiting the park in Eagle Pass, Texas, that has become the focal point of the feud between the state and the federal government.

The Biden administration and the Texas National Guard are locked in an ongoing dispute over Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, a sprawling park that, up until recently, was used as a major thoroughfare for illegal immigrants attempting to gain access to the United States.

The Texas National Guard took control of Shelby Park after Customs and Border Patrol agents were filmed cutting through razor wire to make it easier for illegal immigrants to enter the United States.

Tensions hit a fever pitch this week after the Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration in a 5-4 vote, saying that federal agents may cut and remove the razor wire to allow illegal immigrants to enter the country.

But despite the action from the Supreme Court, The Daily Wire found that Texas authorities have not only maintained existing razor wire fortifications but have added razor wire to border barriers, all while continuing to bar Border Patrol from establishing a presence in the park.

Texas authorities have also arrested illegal immigrants for trespassing, taking some to jail rather than handing them over to Customs and Border Patrol for processing.

Now the Biden administration has demanded that the Texas National Guard give Border Patrol complete access to Shelby Park by today, Friday January 26th.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott appeared to respond to President Biden’s deadline in a Thursday night post on X, formerly Twitter, defending the state’s decision to defend its borders from mass illegal immigration amid an unprecedented crisis.

“Half of America joins Texas in asserting our constitutional right of self defense under Art. 1, Sec. 10, stemming from Joe Biden’s refusal to enforce immigration laws,” the post from Abbott states. “His actions have caused an unprecedented invasion that we must defend against.”

Twenty-five Republican Governors from across the country have sided with Abbott in the wake of the Supreme Court decision, blasting the Biden administration for facilitating mass illegal immigration into the United States.

“We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border,” the statement from the Republican governors reads before slamming the Biden administration for “refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.”

The dispute over Shelby Park comes as the United States has faced an unprecedented crisis, with over 10 million crossing the border since Joe Biden took office.

When the Federal government fails t o provide for the safety and security of its citizens, a state has a right to defend for itself. The Biden administration has failed to follow immigration law and is far more guilty than anything Texas has done in failing to protect the state and its citizens as they approved illegals to enter at their leisure. The White House, a public building, has been fenced off to keep people out even citizens, no reason that a state can’t follow suit and keep those entering illegally out to ensure the safety and security of its citizens..
