North Carolina Democratic Governor Vetoes Pro-Life Bill

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) vetoed pro-life legislation in front of a crowd Saturday.

The North Carolina legislature passed Senate Bill 20 that would have restricted abortions to 12 weeks, according to the state legislature’s website.

The Democratic governor, who is known to support abortion rights, vocally spoke in opposition to the Care for Women, Children, and Families Act on Twitter before vetoing the legislation.

Republicans who introduced the legislation pitched it as a “middle-ground change” to the state’s abortion laws, AP News reported. The legislation also includes exceptions for rape and incest at 20 weeks, as well as 24 weeks for a fetal “life-limiting anomaly.”

The state currently limits abortions up to 20 weeks, which went into effect after Roe v. Wade was overturned last year, according to the North Carolina Attorney General’s website.

North Carolina’s supermajority Republican legislature could potentially make the bill veto-proof, according to AP News, but the governor’s website noted four Republicans that Gov. Cooper believes supported abortion rights on the campaign trail. The list included Rep. Tricia Cotham (R-Mecklenburg) who left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party back in April.

He vetoed the bill with the following statement:

“This bill will create dangerous interference with the doctor-patient relationship, leading to harm for pregnant women and their families. With its medically unnecessary obstacles and restrictions, it will make abortion unavailable to many women, particularly those with lower incomes, those who live in rural areas, and those who already have limited access to health care.”

If you do not want to have a baby why wait so long to go get the Morning After pill or an abortion?!? The laziness of the women that REFUSE to go until the baby can actually FEEL a murderer killing it is sickening! STOP being LAZY and irresponsible! Get it done EARLY!

Stop having unpretected sex, take Birth Control, there are SO MANY other options rather than wait 20+ weeks to do something about it! Babies should not suffer because women are flat out irresponsible ! This is why its called “Negligent Homicide” when you are negligent and cause a death!
Its NO LONGER just “My Body” when you engage in unprotected sex and create a life! It is now a BABY”S Life you are putting in danger.

Sadly, the Mother is the one that is suppose to (By Nature) PROTECT that baby. Unless your a warped minded Leftist that doesn’t care about killing of an innocent baby over their lust for unprotected sex. Birth Control (many types) Condoms, Pull out and shoot somewhere else, IUD, The Morning After Pill… Adoption… SO MANY other options…OR, Take care of it EARLY. Clinics are FREE! Health Department is FREE… No room for excuses. The options are far to many and the baby’s life is far to important.

Cooper is an idiot and those in NC should relieve him of his job next go around.

I believe abortion is an abomination; however, also believe that it is perfectly reasonable in the case of Rape !
I believe ,as well ,that women have absolute control of their own bodies !
But I say ,Do Not make me responsible for paying for Your indiscretions !

“Dangerous interference…”??? This governor is lying through his teeth. The later the abortion happens in the pregnancy, the more painful it is for the baby and the more harmful it is for the mother. The bill does nothing to make the procedure less available to anyone.

North Carolina people need to vote him out! Who wants a baby killer as their leader. Is that what North Carolina is about – doing the Devil’s work?

    • Just Me says:

Yo! Easy there self righteous one. NC didn’t vote him in, he is part of the leftist cabal that was installed. How about taking it down a notch or two or six.
