Fox News host Greg Gutfeld slammed his own network while defending Tucker Carlson in a moment that left the studio audience stunned. Gutfeld also seemed to imply that Fox News is part of the “censorship industrial complex.”
On Friday’s episode of “Gutfeld!,” the Fox News host was discussing the viral moment when Elon Musk emphatically told companies attempting to “blackmail” him with advertising dollars to “go f*** yourself!”
Gutfeld praised Musk for refusing to bend the knee to the cancel culture campaign targeting his X social media platform and defending free speech. Gutfeld lauded Musk for telling off “cowardly advertisers” who caved to pressure from progressive activists, and said Musk standing for what he believes is “how it’s done.”
“The fact is, Musk may be the last man standing between real freedom of speech and the suffocating block of this censorship industrial complex, which is made up of government, media, and tech forces,” Gutfeld said in a possible veiled shot at his employer – Fox News.
“He realizes that advertisers have no spine and can be easily cowed by special interest groups in cahoots with political allies,” he said of the tech billionaire.
Gutfeld then nuked his own network by saying, “If you don’t believe me, I have two words for you: Tucker Carlson.”
The comment about the former Fox News star drew uneasy gasps from the live audience and the studio went silent.
Even Gutfed’s co-hosts were speechless in the comment slamming Fox News while supporting Carlson – who the network terminated earlier this year.
Gutfeld was surprised by the reaction and reacted by saying, “Wow.”
The “Gutfeld!” video clip went viral, and caught the attention of Musk, who shared the video with the caption: “Correct.”

After being fired from Fox News, Carlson joined Musk on the X social media platform, where he has the massively successful “Tucker on X” show.
