Titanic Submarine Suffered ‘Catastrophic Implosion’ — All 5 Passengers Dead

The US Coast Guard confirmed on Thursday that those who were aboard the Titan submersible are now dead. A spokesperson said that the debris that was found shows that the Titan passengers could not have survived the destruction of the pressure chamber.

A Remote Operating Vehicle discovered the debris on Thursday morning. In consultation with experts from within the unified command, the debris is consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.” The Coast Guard immediately reached out to the families, and offered their condolences.

The Titan was approximately 1600 feet from the bow of the Titanic on the sea floor. The investigation is still ongoing, and comes after debris from the wreckage, including the rear cover and landing frame, were found.

An ROV is continuing operations on the sea floor. Debris “comprising the totality of the pressure chamber” was found.

Authorities do not believe that bodies will be recovered, and stated that as to the cause of the destruction, an expert said that the Titanic, or a crash with the Titanic, was not at fault. Instead, they believe it was “an implosion in the water column.” This was a “catastrophic implosion.”

The timing of the implosion as regards the length of time Titan was underwater before the implosion is not yet known.

A statement released by OceanGate, the company behind the Titan submersible that went missing Sunday after descending to the depths to view the wreckage of the famed, ill-fated luxury liner Titanic, stating that all of those aboard are dead.

“We now believe that our CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, have sadly been lost,” the company said.

“These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world’s oceans. Our hearts are with these five souls and every member of their families during this tragic time. We grieve the loss of life and joy they brought to everyone they knew.”

When TRUE Ocean Explorers have gone to depths 3x deeper than the Titanic is at and have made 30+ trips down & back successfully using Titanium and Steel – – Who in the right mind would think that a lightweight fabrication would make one iota of sense? A cheap SOB that wanted to cut corners and get his business plan off the ground. I was deeply interested in RMS Titanic in the 80’s and took college courses on the History, attended yearly dinners on April 14th where we ate what the passengers ate on their last night and have gone to see many of the exhibits, on loan to the USA for viewing (and did see the touristy one in Orlando years ago). When James Cameron and Robert Ballard spend THREE years on land designing a submersible via computer programs, then build it and then have it go through endurance engineering tests over and over again, then navigate it to the bottom of 35,000+ ft below solo; before they would ever risk taking another scientists with them – What made OceanGate cut all the corners and skip over the testing; ignore the letters, emails and recommendations from the close-knit underwater explorers “Community” – it’s tragic. In 2020, the Chinese went to the deepest part of the Globe >35,000 ft below the surface and they were connected and live-streaming the ENTIRE time as they went down (Descent) – talked with kids in classrooms while at the bottom of Challenger Deep (deepest crevice on Earth) and was in contact the entire time ascending back to the top….When there is that type of capabilities around where you don’t have to rely on a PING every 15 minutes w/ZERO communication, no live-streaming, no cameras, no GPS tracking, stripped down model = WHO would go on it? The “Community” begged him to listen but he refused. When all of this information is available at your fingertips on the Internet, why would you pay 250K to ride in basically Horse & Buggy antiquated technology when you know that so many others have gone to 3x the depths of Titanic repeatedly without any issues? Search on the Internet “Challenger Deep” and open up the Wikipedia Page about the deepest spot in all of our water on Earth. Scroll about 1/2 way down to the Section “DESCENTS” and you can read what has been done since 1960 and forward. These chambers are thick, made from steel & titanium and have every back-up system that a scientist or explorer could imagine… OceanGate was using a string & a tin can when the rest of the Oceanographers & Scientists were using Cellular, Satellite & Technology that most of us aren’t even aware of – – James Cameron has literally spent MORE time on RMS Titanic than it’s maiden voyage Capt John Smith did. I think I would trust him and Robert Ballard, the founder of RMS Titanic in 1985. than anyone else in the world ~ Rest in Peace to the 5 we lost. I do hope the souls that perished on her are welcoming to the 5 newcomers. You almost want to hear what they are discussing. Can you just imagine the Owner/Founder of Macy’s Isidor Straus, and his wife, Ida, hearing about how 2 men can get married nowadays and have children; that the cover of Glamour this month featured a pregnant man…The Reason We Study History is so that We Learn From It and do NOT Repeat it ~but alas, OceanGate did.
