Former first lady Melania Trump is reportedly making her return to the campaign trail for the presidential bid of her husband, former President Donald Trump.
Melania Trump will host a fundraising event for the Log Cabin Republicans, a GOP LGBT group, at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on April 20, according to Politico.
Melania Trump has long maintained a close relationship with the Log Cabin Republicans, which describes itself as “ the nation’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies.”
In 2021, she was the special guest at a dinner the organization hosted at Mar-a-Lago, where she was given an award. The former president himself spoke at an event the organization hosted at the club in 2022.
The event comes after months of teasing a return to the campaign trail for the former first lady since her husband announced his 2024 bid in November 2022.
When going out to vote in the presidential primary in Florida with Donald Trump last month, she told reporters to “stay tuned” when asked when she would be seen campaigning for her husband.
The ex-first lady made the remarks while attending, with her husband, a wake for a slain New York City police officer.
In recent months, Melania Trump has had several public appearances, including at the funeral of former first lady Rosalynn Carter, alongside all the other living former first ladies, in November and at the National Archives for a ceremony that commemorated Bill of Rights Day in December.
She was also seen at the funeral of her mother, Amalija Knavs, in Palm Beach, Florida, in January, where she gave a spirited eulogy for her late mother.
The former first lady has largely stayed out of the spotlight since leaving the White House in January 2021, but as her husband’s campaign gears up and Donald Trump continues to lead President Joe Biden in the polls, she may be seen on the campaign trail more often.
The Biden campaign has used first lady Jill Biden for several events, usually alongside her husband, and it has touted the current first lady’s background in education to connect with voters.
How does biden think his miss’s background education will connect with voters ? She got a bachelors degree and a masters degree when only around 38% achieve either. I’m sure the drop outs & those that couldn’t afford uni will be impressed by her flaunting her degrees while patting herself on the back. The poorer voters will not be impressed. TRUMP 2024.
Although I am not a supporter of any letters in the alphabet soup, I truly love all people. I don’t expect my political or ethical beliefs to align 100% with anyone I like or relate to, and I like First Lady Melania very much. A short bit of research into the LGBT Log Cabin group reveals that they do not condone conversion therapy for minors. They are actively fighting against it. This is a start, an in-road, into forming relationships without which, no progress can ever be made.
