Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) won the second GOP nomination vote this week for Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Jordan, who previously came up short against House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) earlier this week, won the vote against Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA).
Jordan got approximately 124 votes and Scott got 81, according to reporters on Capitol Hill.

The vote comes on the heels of House Majority Leader Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) dropping out of the Speaker race following Republican members of Congress failing to coalesce around him.
Scalise edged out Judiciary Chairman Jordan 113-99 in a secret ballot vote for the GOP nomination on Wednesday, but more than 24 hours later, a couple dozen GOP members either opposed him or were undecided.
The race for Speaker of the House has suffered several setbacks with Republicans in Congress finding themselves divided following the ouster of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Speaker after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) initiated a “motion to vacate.”
With Democrats united in nominating Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for speaker, Republicans can only afford to lose a handful of votes to secure the simple majority needed to secure the Speaker’s gavel unless there is a bipartisan compromise.
Republicans better not hand over the Speaker position to a Democrat!!!! That wouldn’t be right!! I getting a little tired of these faux Republicans who are messing things up for them!! There seems to be a fringe element in both parties who are endangering, well, everything!!! These fringe elements need to get their heads on straight and work with the party they are a part of!!! With the numbers in the House so close, we can’t have any of the fringe elements causing problems within the Party!! That would only help the Democrats win!!!
Jim Jordan will do a great job as Speaker. He won’t take any crap from anybody.
