Thirty Republican senators voted to reauthorize a contentiously debated warrantless- spying tool on Saturday.
The bill to reauthorize Section 702 passed by a 60-34 vote after six amendments were defeated. Support and opposition crossed party lines, with 17 Democrats and independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont joining 18 Republicans in voting no, while Republican Sens. J.D. Vance of Ohio, Shelly Moore Capito of West Virginia and Eric Schmitt of Missouri and Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Raphael Warnock of Georgia and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada did not cast a vote. Thirty Republicans joined 29 Democrats and independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona in voting to pass the measure, which is headed to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature.

The bill previously passed the House of Representatives after an amendment to require a warrant failed on a 212-212 tie vote, with House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise among those voting it down. A similar amendment was defeated by a 50-42 vote in the Senate that, like the vote for final passage, crossed party lines.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act drew controversy after the FBI obtained warrants under the act to monitor communications by Carter Page and other associates of former President Donald Trump during Trump’s successful 2016 campaign for the White House. The application relied on evidence from the now-discredited Steele Dossier.
There goes our 4th amendment rights!

NOR ARE YOUR FORTH AMENDMENT RIGHTS WAIVED IF A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL THINKS THEIR SEARCH IS “REASONABLE” DESPITE WHAT THE FIRST CITATION BY GOOGLES CLAIMS! WHY? BECAUSE THE 4TH AMENDMENT SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT UNLESS ALL THE REQUIREMENTS ARE MEET THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT SEARCH PERIOD!!!
4th Amendment in its entirety: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, SHALL NOT BE VIOLATED, AND NO WARRANTS SHALL ISSUE, BUT UPON PROBABLE CAUSE, SUPPORTED BY OATH OR AFFIRMATION, AND PARTICULARLY DESCRIBING THE PLACE TO BE SEARCHED, AND PERSONS OR THINGS TO BE SEIZED.”
Note that like the 1st and 2nd, there are no exceptions, exemptions or limitations granted the government in the 4th amendment either…
It is crystal clear that by simply reading the 4th Amendment that 702 is utterly and completely unconstitutional and therefore by definition without question illegal on its face is that is allows for warrant-less searches of American citizens as well as the issuance of general warrants. No wonder that that whenever the powers that be talk about the 4th Amendment they never allow you to read or hear the 4th Amendment!
Wake up America! This bill grants the same powers of surveillance and gross violation of the privacy of the citizenry by the government as those exercised by the Nazis, the post war Soviet block and of course the likes of China, Russia, North Korea and israel, and a host of other 2-bit despot regimes around the world today…

Oh wait, this actually happened here in America recently. A tiny group of greedy, crooked and evil super rich land owners wanted to get rid of the locals and open up the beach front but could not because State Law protected the locals lands as long as they were handed down to their children. Like the israelis they decided to kill the kids by sending them home in the middle of the school day, ordered the warning sirens and water shut off then started fires in exactly the right places and blocked the exits so that hundreds if not thousands of children are now dead! problem solved, no one left to hand down the land to! Sure sounds like Gaza to me!. The only difference is the israelis are using US made bombs and rockets instead of fire!
