CNN Anchor Ana Cabrera Is Leaving

CNN’s Ana Cabrera is reportedly leaving CNN and headed to MSNBC, according to Puck’s Senior Correspondent Dylan Byers.

Byers tweeted Thursday that “CNN dayside anchor @AnaCabrera is leaving for NBCUniversal, likely MSNBC. (Not related to current layoffs). Chris Licht will be announcing new CNN dayside schedule in coming weeks…”

The news comes just as it was reported that CNN’s political analyst Chris Cillizza was fired Thursday amid a massive shakeup at the company. Other correspondents that were fired include Alison Kiosk, Martin Savidge, Alex Field, and Mary Ann Fox, according to Variety.

Cillizza’s termination comes just one day after CEO Chris Licht announced there would be layoffs over the following few days. The executives said they would notify staff about their terminations and said it would mostly be paid contributors.

“Our people are the heart and soul of this organization. It is incredibly hard to say goodbye to any one member of the CNN team, much less many,” Licht said, calling the move a “recalibrated reporting strategy.”

Definition of CNN Anchor, Dead Weight!! They are not reporters. Straight reporting made CNN many years ago. Just introduce reporters with straight reporting.. When will CNN learn? After all the cable companys quit carrying them..
