Scores of Trump supporters are expected to gather for a MAGA boat parade in Detroit, Michigan to celebrate the former president’s 78th birthday.
The Michigan Conservative Coalition has organized the event on the Great Lakes, on Saturday, launching from the Nine Mile Tower mark in St. Clair Shores at 1 p.m. From there, the procession will follow Detroit’s shoreline so people can see it, before it ends at Gordie Howe International Bridge. The National Weather Service has forecast a sunny day for the boat parade on Saturday, with a high of 77 degrees Fahrenheit and “calm wind” in the afternoon.
Trump is, in fact, in Detroit this weekend, but he is not expected to attend the parade as he is a major speaker at The People’s Convention at the Huntington Place Convention Center downtown.
The event, sponsored by Turning Point Action, will also welcome Vivek Ramaswamy, Charlie Kirk, Candace Owens, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and Donald Trump Jr. It will run from Friday, the actual day of Trump’s birthday, to Sunday, and is open only to those who have received an invitation.
Although there are discounts available for students, general admission goes for $100, while VIP tickets are being sold for as much as $600.
The convention describes itself as “the natural focal point of the national conservative political movement ahead of the 2024 election.”
“Attendees will leave equipped with the tools, knowledge, and network to lead their communities and win in November,” its ticket-buyers are told.
The agenda includes “holding our politicians accountable, stopping unfair influence on our elections, engaging voters of color in the conservative movement” and more.
“Trump is aware of it and he thinks it is fun,” the Michigan Conservative Coalition said of the boat parade. This event is open, with the organization’s invitation welcoming anyone who has a boat. Almost 100 people have responded on Facebook, but a coalition spokesperson told The Macomb Daily local newspaper that the event will be huge; around 1,000 vessels, including private boats, tugboats and seaplanes, took part in the same MAGA event in 2020.
Trump became the first former president to be convicted of felony charges, when a 12-person jury found him guilty of 24 counts of the falsification of business records in the first degree. The records were relating to money Trump had reimbursed to his former lawyer Michael Cohen, who had paid adult film star Stormy Daniels for her silence before the 2016 election.
Trump and his supporters have long denied the legitimacy of the legal proceedings that convicted him, and the former U.S. president, who is set to face sentencing on July 11, maintains his innocence.
What a way to go to Michigan boaters to celebrate Trump’s birthday and hopefully our next president.
Nothing better than a huge bikini-and-motorboating party to celebrate our favorite President!
We support President Trump because HE alone is what OUR Country NEEDS! TRUMP 2024
