Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron cruised to victory in the GOP primary for the state’s gubernatorial race on Tuesday, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The Trump-backed candidate will now face incumbent Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, this coming November.
Cameron emerged victorious in a crowded field of 11 candidates in total.
The race was notable due to competing endorsements from former President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, both of whom are currently polling as the leading GOP presidential candidates in 2024.

Governor DeSantis backed former U.N. Ambassador Kelly Craft, as did fellow presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Craft also possessed a number of additional high-profile endorsements, including Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY).
Trump instead opted to endorse Cameron. “The great Commonwealth of Kentucky is a very important place to be, the people are incredible. I ran twice and I won twice by landslide numbers, so what I do and what I say is very, very special,” Trump said in a video statement. “Daniel Cameron is a person who is going to be a great governor. Your attorney general, he’s been amazing,” he continued.
The newly-anointed GOP nominee thanked Trump for his endorsement and support in his victory speech on Tuesday. “And of course, a big thank you to President Donald J. Trump for his support and his endorsement of this campaign,” Cameron said to a massive round of applause. “Let me just say, the Trump culture of winning is alive and well in Kentucky.”

The race between Cameron and Beshear is projected to be close, as the incumbent has polled as one of the nation’s most popular governors despite presiding over a red state.
How beshear is one of the most liked governors is a joke. He has been a complete ass hat. Lock downs and masks prevailed.
If Cameron doesn’t win there is clearly election interference. Look at the total numbers of democrats to republicans. Republicans out number dems by a substantial amount.
However, McConnell has been elected repeatedly which tells me election interference is an issue. No one here I’ve spoken with likes him.
Maybe Cameron will end some of the draconian personal property taxes we pay. Paid taxes on our cars when we bought them then pay yearly in perpetuity based on book value. Thats why there are so many pieces of crap on the roads here.
Kentucky – show your american spirit and vote for Cameron. Its time to take America back and restore true AMERICAN values, which NO democrats seem to have
I’m not sure Trump is smart at picking people or just let them use him! After Trump refused to FIRED ALL OF OBAMA STAFF. I am kind of disappointed he still doesn’t get it! How long did he sit down and talk with those he throwing his support behind? We all saw Trump back McConnell in Kentucky! WHICH TURN OUT TO BE A BIG MISTAKE! Until TRUMP show or tell us he had more than 2 hours interviews with any politician, I will NOT SUPPORT HIM! People know how to LIES AND COVER THEIR TRUTH!
I voted for Cameron for his qualities as a leader, not because Trump endorsed him. If it wasn’t for Cameron, Kentucky would be no different from California. He fought thru the Covid pandemic tooth and nail. Businesses stayed open, vaccines were optional, masks were optional and Kentucky thrived. This is because of what Cameron did as an AG, not any doing from Beshears. If you want to talk about liars, take a look at the Dirham report. Lies exposed by the same people YOU voted for.
Santoes your Lady Friend lost….And She was with the UN….Trump 2024…
Cameron won on his own merit and would have won with or without Trump’s endorsement.
