Texas Gov. Abbott Vows ‘This Is Not Over’ After Supreme Court Border Loss

Following a divided Supreme Court ruling on Monday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has stated that “this is not over,” and has vowed to continue efforts to prevent migrants from entering the U.S. illegally.

The ruling saw the court’s conservative Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett side with the three liberal justices in favor of the Biden administration, enabling federal agents to remove razor wire that Texas had installed along a stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border.

The razor wire was placed near the border city of Eagle Pass and was among several measures taken by Abbott to try to stop migrants from crossing the border illegally.

The Biden administration contested that the wire was hindering Border Patrol agents’ access to migrants as they crossed the river, and that federal immigration law overruled Texas’s efforts to halt the flow of migrants.

The Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling now allows Border Patrol agents to cut the razor wire that had been installed on the banks of the Rio Grande, while legal action regarding the wire continues.

This follows last month’s federal appeals court verdict that forced federal agents to cease cutting the wire.

Following the ruling, Abbott reiterated his commitment to securing the border, stating his intent to carry on fighting in court and exploring other means to keep the border secure.

The governor’s focus on the border has seen him send National Guard troops, deliver extra law enforcement resources, and construct barriers and fencing along the border in recent months.

Despite the measures taken by Abbott, unauthorized border crossings have continued to increase this year, with over 1.7 million detentions at the southern border in the 2021 fiscal year.

The surge in migration has placed pressure on border agents, facilities, and local communities, with many advocates calling for a more comprehensive approach to managing the complex issues surrounding the border.

He was always a disgrace…I wonder how much she was paid or threatened? She’s been a HUGE disappointment.

Let me tell you something about Justice Roberts, He is responsible in my opinion for everything that has has happened since 2020.

Maybe you didn’t hear the recording that someone leaked between him and Justice Alito when Trump wanted to have them hear his case and look at the fraud that was collected evidence collected over the 3 months after the election?

He was heard screaming at Alito “I do not care who won the fucking election ! I am not going to be responsible for the KAOS that will happen if we overturn this election.
Didn’t you pay attention to the anarchy over the summer? I’m not getting involved .

If he would have let President Trump bring his case before them especially now with all the evidence about hoaxes and Bullshit we may many of the dead from the last few years still alive with their Family’s.

Sorry to have to tell you this but I am pretty sure many remember that story and how fast it was censored from twitter and all social media and the recording diapered.

In my opinion I hope he rots in hell when his time has past with b====s head up his ass for all eternity.

The federal government will not enforce a key contract provision in the constitution. They are in violation of that contract, which does not contain any severability clauses. It appears their intent is to do exactly that, break the contract and force states to seek remedy or void the agreement. How can the supremes be so short sighted?

remove the wire and in its place put corrugated like metal from the side of shipping containers in the form of a fence until the actual wall can replace it! Make sure to fucking electrify it!
