Socialist Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York lashed out at billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk after he criticized her over her response to the migrant crisis in New York City.
Musk was responding to a missive against Ocasio-Cortez after she mocked Republicans for the federal government speeding toward a budget shutdown.
“Boy math is needing 15 attempts to count the votes correctly to become Speaker and then shutting down the government 9 months later,” said Ocasio-Cortez.

The post mocked Ocasio-Cortez for attempting to downplay the migrant crisis by comparing the number of illegal aliens being sent to New York City and the millions of immigrants who had gone through Ellis Island between 1892 and 1954.
“She’s just not that smart,” Musk responded.
Ocasio-Cortez didn’t even mention the migrant crisis in her response but instead touted her accomplishments in order to prove that she is actually smart.
“I wasn’t born rich and became the youngest woman in American history to be elected to Congress. Then I investigated Cohen, authored the largest FEMA funeral assistance program in history and led creation of a US Climate Corps to create tens of thousands of new jobs. Stay mad,” she responded with an emoji of a woman flipping her hair.
Other New York City officials did not share Ocasio-Cortez’s opinion that the number of migrants was “nothing.” New York City Mayor Eric Adams has demanded that the federal government take responsibility and has said that the cost of caring for the migrants would destroy the city.
Musk, meanwhile, criticized the media for ignoring the massive surge of illegal aliens crossing at the border and said on Monday that he planned to visit the border to take measure of the crisis himself.
The far-left socialist and Musk had previously sparred after he unveiled his plan to charge Twitter users for certain features on the popular social media application. He later rebranded the service as X.
