New York Subway Shooting Captured in Terrifying Videos

Videos shared on social media show chaotic scenes as a man was shot on the New York subway in Brooklyn on Thursday evening.

The incident started as a verbal altercation between two men on the northbound A train and escalated into a physical fight. As the train was approaching the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station, one of the men, 36, pulled out a gun. The other man, 32, wrestled the gun away from him and shot him several times, according to police. The 36-year-old was critically wounded and as of Thursday night he was in critical condition, according to media reports.

Passengers aboard the train appeared terrified in videos shared online as they cowered at the opposite end of the train while the two men argued. In one of the clips, a woman can be heard shouting to the other passengers to “shut the door” while the two men can be heard shouting in the background.

Other clips shared on social media allegedly show the two men arguing and punching each other inside the train, as people make space around them. In one video, a woman can be heard screaming, “Let me out, let me out.”

According to police, the 32-year-old boarded the train at Nostrand Avenue Station at about 4:45 p.m. When the train started moving, he was approached by the 36-year-old man, already on the train, who started acting in an “aggressive and provocative” manner towards him, Michael Kemper, the Police Department’s Chief of Transit, said at a news conference on Thursday.

The two started arguing, and the 36-year-old first took out a sharp object—a knife or a razor blade—and then a gun from his jacket.

Videos of the altercation show unsuccessful attempts by other passengers on the train to break up the fight, with one woman becoming involved and appearing to stab the older man in the lower back as he was standing over the 32-year-old.

Footage shared on social media then shows a bloodstain appear on the white T-shirt of the older man, who starts asking the woman: “Did you stab me? You stabbed me, right?”

Another man wearing a blue sweatshirt and a bright yellow vest then intervened to try to de-escalate the situation and separate the two men, but he’s quickly pushed away as the two continue arguing.

The younger man can then be seen standing in front of the woman on one side of the train, as the 36-year-old takes out a gun from his jacket and approaches the two. Footage then becomes chaotic as the person filming distances themselves from the situation. Several gunshots can be heard not long after.

The man who was shot with his own gun was taken to New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was undergoing surgery.

Authorities recovered a gun from the scene, and the 32-year-old is in police custody. No charges have been filed at this time, and the identities of the two men are still unknown.

The shooting follows two similar incidents on the New York City subway since the beginning of the year. In January, Richard Henderson, 45, was fatally shot in the back while attempting to break an argument between two fellow passengers on a subway train approaching Franklin Ave-Medgar Evers College station.

In February, a 35-year-old man was killed and five other people were injured, including two teenagers, after an argument broke out between two groups of teenagers at Mount Eden Avenue subway station in the Bronx.

You know, if you let Bernie Getz defend himself from those thug niggahs 30 years ago and not charge him with attempted murder, NONE of this shit would be happening today. Oh, and naming subway station stops after terrorists is really “brilliant.”

    Only sub-human loosers using subways.
In The Great Village of McKinney (population 21,283) there is NO public transportation AT ALL.
All White People (working & paying taxes blacks included) in city where I live have their own vehicles and do not need subways, buses, etc..
