New Update in Chiefs Parade Shooting Shatters Media’s Previous Narrative

The two individuals involved in the tragic shooting during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade have been identified as adults, shattering early reports from mainstream media outlets.

Dominic M. Miller, 18, of Kansas City, and Lyndell Mays, 22, of Raytown, have been charged with second-degree murder among other felony charges, according to prosecutors. This dispels earlier reports categorizing the shooters as minors, which the media gave as an excuse for the suspects’ names remaining hidden, and casts a new light on the events that unfolded.

The shooting, which occurred last week, resulted in the death of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a local radio DJ and mother of two, and left 22 others injured amidst the celebrations. The incident, which took place on the west side of Union Station, prompted a swift and comprehensive response from law enforcement and emergency services, leading to the arrest of Miller and Mays.

Both suspects are currently being held on $1 million bail and were treated in local hospitals for gunshot wounds received during the incident. Jean Peters Baker, the Jackson County Prosecutor, said during a press briefing, “We seek to hold every shooter accountable for their actions on that day. Every single one.”

Baker indicated that additional charges are anticipated. The prosecutors believe that Mays found himself in a heated exchange with an individual to whom he had no prior ties. The confrontation rapidly intensified, leading to Mays drawing a firearm, according to Baker.

“Mays pulled his handgun first,” she noted.

Baker shared that Mays was involved in a “verbal argument” during the parade with an individual with whom he had no previous interactions. “That argument very quickly escalated to Mays” brandishing his handgun, followed “almost immediately” by others, including Miller, drawing their firearms.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Mays informed the police “that he drew a gun first, in a crowd of people with kids, picked one of the individuals in the group [he was arguing with] at random, and started shooting, all because they said, ‘I’m going to get you’ and to him, that meant, ‘I’m going to kill you.’”

The probable cause affidavit revealed that when questioned by the police on his initial approach towards the other group, Mays confessed, “Stupid, man. Just pulled a gun out and started shooting. I shouldn’t have done that. Just being stupid.”

Furthermore, when the affidavit pointed out that the individual Mays targeted was fleeing from him, Mays acknowledged, “I know.”

The quick escalation of a verbal argument into a deadly shooting shocked the community and the nation, prompting calls for gun control. Mays initiated the gunfire following a dispute, with Miller allegedly firing the shot that killed Lisa Lopez-Galvan.

23 individuals were injured by gunfire, with almost half of them being younger than 16 years of age. Lopez-Galvan was the sole fatality in the tragic event. When the shooting unfolded, thousands of spectators desperately sought safety.

During the chaos, at least eleven children suffered injuries, though they are anticipated to make a full recovery. Nine of them were victims of gunshot wounds, whereas two experienced different types of injuries.

The family of Lopez-Galvan expressed their relief and gratitude in a statement, saying, “It is reassuring for our family and the entire community to know that this joint team effort has resulted in the identification of the suspects involved.”

what an asshole Biden is. Stupid. These guns used were NOT assault weapons. Plus they were stolen. Does he really think that criminals will stop using handguns if we even remove all guns from the people who are not criminals? Idiot.

  • Justice needs to prevail in this case. Shameful how long it is taken just to find out the color of their skin. Shameful. says:

It took this long to come out with the suspects involved in this despicable shooting. Had these jets been white it would’ve been all over the news networks instantaneously. Instead of wasting all the money on a trial perhaps you can turn these two POS over to the families Who were victimized by these two fks.
