Hunter Biden Reveals Why He Stunningly Pleaded Guilty in $1.4M Tax Evasion Case

Hunter Biden pleaded guilty in his tax evasion case to “spare” his family from the “needless embarrassment” of having to go through a second trial — and endure even more evidence of his seedy behavior while hooked on drugs.

The twice-convicted first son shocked a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday when he unexpectedly copped to an entire tax evasion case, which could land him behind bars for up to 17 years, as jury selection was about to start.

“I will not subject my family to more pain, more invasions of privacy and needless embarrassment,” President Biden’s son said in a statement Thursday. “For all I have put them through over the years, I can spare them this, and so I have decided to plead guilty.”

Prosecutors had planned to call a handful of the Biden scion’s family members to testify and they planned to present the jury with evidence about his crack cocaine addiction and about how he allegedly paid tens of thousands of dollars for strippers and porn while dodging $1.4 million in taxes.

Evidence of Biden’s sordid past were on public display at his June gun trial in Delaware, where his former lovers testified about his raging crack cocaine addiction.

The prominent political clan already endured a June trial in Delaware in which Biden, 54, was convicted of illegally owning a gun while hooked on drugs.

Even more disturbing details emerged in his divorce with Kathleen Buhle, who said the first son blew cash on alcohol, strip clubs, fancy cars and luxury hotel rooms.

“This has been a difficult moment for him and especially his family,” Biden lawyer Abbe Lowell told federal Judge Mark Scarsi of the sudden change of plea. “He and his family don’t want to spend one more day on a period when he was addicted to drugs.”

“Hunter decided to enter his plea to protect those he loves from unnecessary hurt and cruel humiliation,” Lowell said later Thursday outside of court.

The younger Biden was charged with failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes for the years 2016 through 2019. The feds claim Hunter instead used his money for wild parties and wrote off the money he spent on porn and strippers as business expenses.

Hunter eventually repaid the bill to Uncle Sam after he found out he was being investigated.

But Lowell tried to play off the case as simply being late on taxes.

“Like millions of Americans, Hunter was late in filing and paying his taxes,” Lowell told reporters after court Thursday. “Unlike those millions of Americans, he was charged criminally for his failures that occurred during the depths of his addiction to drugs and alcohol, and which he has rectified by paying his overdue taxes in full with interest and penalties years before he was ever charged.”

“In fact, Hunter actually overpaid his taxes in the year he was charged with tax evasion. Hunter put his family first today and it was a brave and loving thing for him to do.”

Hunter faces up to 25 years behind bars at his Nov. 13 sentencing in the gun case and another 17 years at his Dec. 16 sentencing in the tax case. He’s expected to receive far lighter penalties than the maximum, though.
