House Republicans Subpoena Top Biden Aides, Demand Answers on President’s Cognitive Ability

The House Oversight Committee has issued subpoenas to three senior White House aides on Wednesday as concern over President Biden’s mental fitness continues to grow. All three individuals have been compelled to sit for a deposition surrounding the president’s health, the panel announced in a statement.

The committee issued subpoenas to First Lady Jill Biden’s chief aid Anthony Bernal, deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini, and senior adviser Ashley Williams.

“Key White House staff must come before our committee so we can provide the transparency and accountability that Americans deserve,” said House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY).

“According to one former Biden aide, these three employees – Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, and Ashley Williams – have created ‘a protective bubble around’ President Biden,” the statement added.

White House spokesman Ian Sams responded to the news by attacking the GOP-controlled committee’s work in a statement to Axios. “Like everything Congressman Comer has done over the past year, these subpoenas are a baseless political stunt intended for him to get media attention instead of engage in legitimate oversight. His partisan attacks on the President have been discredited, and now he continues to debase the House by weaponizing subpoenas to get headlines instead of seeking information through the proper constitutional process,” he said.

The subpoenas come as President Biden continues to face questions over his mental fitness following his disastrous debate performance. Much of the concern has come from his own party, some of whom have quoted reports from Biden’s aides.

In one such report, White House staff seemingly admitted that the president has displayed symptoms consistent with dementia for months. “The time of day is important as to which of the two Bidens will appear,” Axios reported after speaking with White House staff. “From 10am to 4pm, Biden is dependably engaged — and many of his public events in front of cameras are held within those hours.”

“Outside of that time range or while traveling abroad, Biden is more likely to have verbal miscues and become fatigued,” aides told the outlet.

Increased confusion and cognitive decline in evening and nighttime hours is a common symptom of Alzheimer’s and Dementia known as “sundowning.”

“Sundowning is increased confusion that people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia may experience from dusk through night,” reads a description from the Alzheimer’s Association website. “Also called ‘sundowner’s syndrome,’ it is not a disease but a set of symptoms or dementia-related behaviors that may include difficulty sleeping, anxiety, agitation, hallucinations, pacing and disorientation. Although the exact cause is unknown, sundowning may occur due to disease progression and changes in the brain.”

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee has asked the subpoenaed aides to respond by July 17. Lawmakers hope to depose the White House staffers sometime in late July.

Don’t help the democrats and the media out of this mess that they’ve covered up for the last 3 years!

They’ve allowed him to ruin the country for 3 and a half years. They covered for him. They lied for him. They told the country that he was “as sharp as a tack”. But now that they see the polls saying that he is losing in a landslide, all of a sudden they want to throw him under the bus. I say leave the potato in the race. He’s such an arrogant, loud mouth, braggart, let him show us what he’s got.
