Ex-Fox News Anchor Seriously Injured After Being Conked on the Head by Speaker at Swanky Charity Gala

A swanky charity gala turned into a painful night out for WABC radio host and former television anchor Rita Cosby — who was conked in the head by a sound speaker, she claimed in a lawsuit.

Cosby, 59, was attending the Catholic Charities event at the Museum of Natural History when a JBL speaker toppled over and injured her during the June 7, 2023 event, she claimed in a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.

The longtime reporter and author who worked for Fox News from 1995 to 2005, and co-hosts the Cats & Cosby show on WABC radio, said in court papers that she was seriously hurt as a result of the incident but did not detail the injuries.

Cosby is suing the city, Catholic Charities and a Staten Island company, Pro Sho Sound Services, which provided video, audio and staging services for the fundraiser, for unspecified damages.

Utter Waste of my Time. I’m not going to renew my subscription in 2025, if every day it seems we get more and more LOW quality articles. This one reads as if they remembered their Deadlines 10 minutes before it was due; so they quick typed up a nonsensical article and submitted it.

Guessing the journalist didn’t do ANY research for this required story. Doesn’t state how big the speaker was, how heavy, how far it fell before hitting her, where on the skull did it hit – impact zone, xrays taken to detect a skull fracture or whether she was knocked unconscious or not. They didn’t even gather any information as to her medical care reqd, recovery and if she has had any permanent deficit from the situation. I quickly learned online she currently hosts a Podcast every day between 5 – 6 PM and she’s described as Feisty and Fearless. I’m a little puzzled as to why she is suing the City, the Event and the Speaker/Sound Company or how much she wants – – How much time was she off work and not paid.

THIS is not journalism! A 8th grader could have gathered more facts and data and compiled a better article. At the end of the article I felt unfulfilled. I didn’t learn ANYTHING from that 2 min read. IS this the quality of journalism those in the future will be generating? I’m beginning to understand the saying “I could talk to a wall and have a better conversation” comes from now.

I’m getting there myself, (cancelling my subscription). I canceled Western Journal a couple of days ago. Why? At the bottom of every article for the past year, they describe how they’re being persecuted by the global elites, and it may not be long before they’re banished. Well, now they’re starting w/ the OMG! ‘headlines’. The icing on the cake was an article which stated, Toyota recalling thousands of their vehicles because of a flaw which could be deadly. Come to find out it was of only ONE model, (Toyota Sequoia), of which 43, 300 models were suspect, and they were recalling only ONE PERCENT of the 43K. That’s – 435 vehicles – total!
I can get ‘the sky is falling; we’re all going to die’ bullshit from the MSM every day. I don’t need supposed credible sources to cave to the pressure.
