Elon Musk Responds to Politically Motivated Subpoena in Epstein Case

Elon Musk said Monday that prosecutors in the US Virgin Islands’ attempt to subpoena him regarding alleged financial advice from Jeffrey Epstein were “idiotic on so many levels.”

The US Virgin Islands has apparently requested files from the Tesla CEO in relation to its lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase, which it wants to hold liable for profiting from sex trafficking acts committed by Epstein.

The US Virgin Islands is suing JPMorgan and seeking to collect unspecified damages because it believes that the banking giant enabled recruiters of Epstein to pay victims and was “indispensable to the operation and concealment of the Epstein trafficking enterprise,” according to Fox News.

The subpoena from the USVI apparently is based on the assertion that Epstein referred Musk to JP Morgan as a client. However, Musk noted on Twitter that his company Tesla hasn’t banked with JP Morgan in over 10 years, after the banking giant “let down” the electric car maker.

Since USVI has been unable to serve Musk with the subpoena, they are looking to subpoena Tesla Inc., instead.

In a Tweet Monday night, Musk said, “This is idiotic on so many levels.”

“1. That cretin never advised me on anything whatsoever,” Musk said unequivocally.

“2. The notion that I would need or listen to financial advice from a dumb crook is absurd,” he added.

“3. JPM let Tesla down ten years ago, despite having Tesla’s global commercial banking business, which we then withdrew. I have never forgiven them.”

Denise George, the attorney general of the US Virgin Islands where Epstein had a home on a private island, is overseeing the distribution of funds to help the victims of the convicted pedophile. Musk, of course, is extremely wealthy.

According to the Daily Mail, the subpoena also requests correspondence and documents between Epstein and Larry Page, who co-founded Google, as well as testimony from Page whom they allege also was referred to JP Morgan by Epstein.

A complaint was filed in New York in April alleging that JPMorgan Chase executives were aware of the sex abuse and trafficking allegations against Epstein but overlooked them for years.

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to a felony charge of solicitation of prostitution involving a minor and was sentenced to 18 months in prison but only served 13 and JPMorgan did not cut ties with Epstein until 2013.
