Conservative commentator Dan Bongino has endorsed Sen. Rick Scott, a Florida Republican, for Senate Majority Leader, as Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, who has held that position many times over the length of his career, will not be seeking reelection.
Florida’s Voice reports:
Proclaiming President-elect Donald Trump has a “mandate,” Florida GOP Sen. Rick Scott said this week he’s the man to become Senate majority leader to ram through the Republican agenda come January.
“We have been given a mandate by the American people to support President Trump’s agenda and Make Washington WORK again,” Scott said. “I’m running to be the next Senate Majority leader to do just that.”
“I’m gonna run. I’m gonna win,” he said. “My Republican colleagues [want] change. They know that Trump has a mandate. They want to be part of that mandate.” Scott also touted his “great working relationship” with Trump and with Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La. The Florida senator additionally vowed to treat all members as “equals.”

Bongino is clearly not the only individual who is backing Scott for the position. Founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, also called for Scott to be made leader of the Senate. Scott Presler, a man who many hail as the main force that helped Trump flip the all-important swing state of Pennsylvania thanks to the work he did with his organization Early Vote Action PAC, also supports the Florida Republican, going on to say, “We all need to support Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader. Otherwise, we’ll just have a repeat of 2016 & you’ll have Paul Ryan saboteurs.”
“Call your Senators & tell them they need to vote for Senator Rick Scott,” he stated. “We also demand a public vote.”
“According to Axios, before the election, Trump had shrugged off Scott’s bid for Senate GOP leader. However, a Trump spokesperson pushed back on the reporting, noting the president-elect has not publicly or officially weighed in on the race,” Florida’s Voice reported.
The same report from Axios also revealed that “people very close to Trump” have sent signals that they are behind Scott for leader of the Senate as well.
A user on X commented his support for Scott, saying, “He’s the right guy… President Trump deserves a successful second term. There is so much that needs to be done and he needs a supportive majority leader in the Senate. Rick Scott is that man. No more RINOS!”
Someone else said, “Dan Bongino endorsing Rick Scott for Senate leader signals growing support for Scott. It’ll be interesting to see how this shapes the upcoming leadership race.”
Scott sounds like a great pick to me! Schmuck Schumer gets the boot in the a$$, and I’m loving that! Schumer and Pelosi will rot in hell!
Rick Scott, for sure!
