A new ad from Trump world questions whether Joe Biden, 81, will make it through a second term if he wins in November amid rising questions over the president’s age and fitness for office.
Donald Trump-aligned Super PAC Make America Great Again Inc. released the scathing ad against the president the day Biden will deliver the 2024 State of the Union address.
The ad titled ‘Jugular’ highlights Trump’s shift to the general election after winning 14 of the 15 Super Tuesday states, leading final competitor Nikki Haley to finally suspend her campaign. But she did not endorse Trump, 77, when exiting the race on Wednesday.
Clips of Biden tripping on stairs and freezing during public appearances are peppered in the 30-second ad, which aired Thursday morning during a commercial break for MSNBC’s Morning Joe – of one of Biden’s favorite shows.
The president’s flubs and freezes have been on the rise and only highlighted more as the 2024 general election approaches in November.
On Tuesday, Biden sparked more health concerns when he froze for 15 seconds during a press conference after saying: ‘I have a lot of questions. I better not start the questions. I’ll get in trouble.’
‘We can all see Joe Biden’s weakness,’ the narrator for the MAGA Inc. ad notes after a 10-second clip of Biden’s freezing during a separate press conference on February 16.
‘If Biden wins, can he even survive til 2029?’ the voice questions, adding: ‘The real question is – can we?’
The ad, which will run through Friday morning on MSNBC, CNN, Fox News and Newsmax, concludes with Biden tripping up the stairs to Air Force One superimposed beside a clip of Vice President Kamala Harris laughing.
Some speculate that Biden will not end up being the Democratic nominee despite his assured primary election win.
Republicans are stoking rumors that someone like VP Harris for California Gov. Gavin Newsom will be selected at the Democratic National Committee Convention over the summer to replace Biden on the ticket in 2024.
Biden already set the record for the oldest-ever person elected president in U.S. history in 2020 and would further that record if given a second term in November.
Trump is only four years younger than Biden and set the record for the oldest president at 70-years-old in 2016 when he beat Ronald Reagan’s record.
Criticism has increased over Biden’s age and his mental fitness for office after a report from his own Justice Department called him an ‘old man’ with a ‘poor memory.’
Special Counsel Robert Hur did not recommend charging Biden in the classified documents case in his report last month because he said a jury would not be able to determine the president’s intention with his faltering memory and ‘diminish faculties.’
Hur said Biden had trouble recalling the years he was vice president and details like when his eldest son Beau passed away.
The man is too confused to stand at a jury trial, but he is competent enough to be President of the United States?
