7 Killed in Separate Shootings in Half Moon Bay, California

Less than 48 hours after a mass shooting in Southern California left 11 dead, seven people have been killed in related shootings in Half Moon Bay, just south of San Francisco.

Monday afternoon’s shootings occurred at Mountain Mushroom Farm and Rice Trucking, according to ABC Bay Area’s Stephanie Sierra. An emergency call went out around 2:20 PM Pacific time, and as first responders arrived they observed the shooter leaving the scene. Sierra also reports that in addition to the seven people killed, one is critically injured.

The suspected killer, Zhao Chunli, age 67, is in custody. ABC Bay Area also had video of that arrest.

The outlet further reports:

A source tells ABC7 News the suspect worked at one of the mushroom farms, and all the victims were coworkers.

The shooter acted alone, according to the source. They say that as first responders got to the area, the shooter left for the second shooting location.

The incidents were reported near Highway 92 and at the Half Moon Bay city limits.

Google Earth map shows the first scene, which is reportedly at Mountain Mushroom Farm on San Mateo Road near Highway 1.

Locals tell us it is known to be a marijuana growing farm.
